Referrals

So who can come to the Golden Jubilee?
Our unique status means that anyone, living anywhere in Scotland, can be referred by their local NHS board for an operation in our current range of specialties.

We offer planned procedures – where patients are booked in for treatment in advance. We also have a responsibility for a range of regional and national heart and lung services, and through this service we treat patients requiring urgent medical attention as well as offering planned care.

Patients who have to wait locally for any of our specialties should have the choice of coming to the Golden Jubilee.

Once you have been assessed – to see if you are fit for surgery – we will carry out all admission and discharge arrangements for you.

After your operation, we will tell your NHS Board to remove your name from the waiting list. We then work together with your referring NHS Board to ensure that you are provided with the appropriate follow-up care.
