What we do

As Scotland's flagship hospital, we carry out a range of planned procedures to assist our NHS Board colleagues in reducing patient waiting times.

The hospital also has a responsibility for a range of regional and national heart and lung services. This service includes being one of two sites in the west of Scotland that takes patients requiring urgent treatment for experiencing a specific type of heart attack (STEMI).

The service works by diagnosing patients and taking them to the Golden Jubilee for treatment within 90 minutes. Those who cannot meet the deadline are given a clot-busting drug while being taken directly to us for specialits treatment.
