Commercial Research
A research project is considered to be commercial if the sponsor is registered at Companies House . The process governing commercial research projects is generally the same as that governing non-commercial research with the exception of the Clinical Trial Agreement, which is a contract between this Board and the sponsor.
In common with most Boards and Trusts in the UK, this Board prefers that model agreements are used. These can be found at the UK Clinical Research Collaboration website . For commercially sponsored drug trials, the model Clinical Trials Agreement (mCTA) for Scotland should be used.
