Intellectual Property

Intellectual Property (IP) refers to the novel or previously undescribed tangible output of any intellectual activity. It can include inventions, industrial processes, software, data, written work, designs and images, i.e. results of research and development which lead to ideas for a new product or process. This could be a potential new treatment or a diagnostic technique, new piece of equipment or new drug or software material.

The point of contact for staff who have Intellectual Property that they would like to develop further is the NWTCB Research Manager (Dr Catherine Sinclair; Catherine.sinclair@gjnh.scot.nhs.uk ) who works closely with Scottish Health Innovations Ltd (SHIL) representative (Keith Elrick; Keith.Elrick@shil.co.uk ) to manage and develop Intellectual Property.

More information concerning the management of Intellectual Property at the NWTCB can be found in the NWTCB Intellectual Property Policy.
