Research
Welcome to the NHS National Waiting Times Centre’s Research and Development website.
It is well recognised that a research active health service promotes the highest standards of care for its patients and the general population. The NHS National Waiting Times Centre Board (NWTCB) is committed to providing equal access to health research, promoting the NWTCB as a research active organisation, recruiting and retaining high quality staff who can develop their research interests and recognising and promoting the ‘knowledge economy’ in the West of Scotland. Further details of these principles are outlined in our Research and Development Strategy.
In these pages you will find information on research policies, procedures, ethics and governance relating to both non-commercial and commercial research taking place within the NWTCB. You will also find contact details for the Research and Development Office, whose function is to support and facilitate health related research in the organisation and ensure that all regulatory requirements are met. Office staff will be pleased to help with any questions you may have. If you are considering undertaking research, we encourage you to contact the office at the earliest possible opportunity.
