e-Health
Our e-Health Department tackles the important role that Information Management and Technology (IM&T) plays in planning, supporting and providing patient services and care.
Within e-Health, the Information Management Team provide information on all hospital activity, such as bed occupancy, length of patient stay and activity reporting. This type of information supports the organisation’s planning and performance and feeds the development of our Local Delivery Plan.
This department is responsible for producing waiting list positions in relation to the regional and national heart and lung services carried out at the Golden Jubilee, ensuring that patients are treated within the recognised waiting time guarantees as outlined by the Scottish Government.
We also have a team who develop our Electronic Health Record. This will ensure ease of access for appropriate staff to each individual patient record, and is striving towards clinical information being collected and accessed at point of care - supporting the patient journey throughout our hospital.
Our Information Technology (IT) team help our staff with computer issues but also take forward a number of system implementations. Recent projects include the deployment of the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS), which will assist directly in improving patient care. They also ensure that our phone systems and paging systems are robust.
