Our brand new library is now open and offers a wide variety of resources and services.

All staff within the NHS National Waiting Times Centre can use our library and make use of the following resources:

• three PCs;
• dedicated study space;
• a range of books to suit all staff (medical, non-clinical and Beardmore);
• DVDs, CDROMs and journals; and
• the ability to issue up to eight books/DVDs/CDROMs to yourself for 28 days at a time and renew them (up to five times) online or search for other titles at: http://www.glasgowlibraries.nhsscotland.com.

The library is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can be accessed by using your swipe card. As it is a self-issue library, you can issue books to yourself or renew them using the Library Personal Computer (PC).

One ATHENS password (fill in online form on the eLibrary website to get your password) provides access to 5000+ electronic journals, biomedical databases (MEDLINE etc.), ebooks, guidelines, patient information and much more. This is from available at: http://www.elib.scot.nhs.uk

What services are on offer?

Our library offers the following services.

• Literature searching:
make a request at: http://www.gglss.scot.nhs.uk by selecting National Waiting Times Centre Board from the list. Create a membership account by filling in your details and selecting either ‘GJNH’ or ‘Beardmore Hotel’ in the drop-down menu.
• Training on using online databases such as MEDLINE, CINAHL and the eLibrary
• Photocopier and scanner.
