Occupational Health and Safety

The Occupational Health and Safety Department runs a confidential advisory service providing staff with advice on physical, mental, social well being, and safety and welfare matters. The department also implements our Board's Health and Safety Policy.

Open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm, they provide a wide range of services, including:

  • pre-employment medicals;
  • immunisations;
  • guidance and support;
  • absence management;
  • first aid;
  • health promotion;
  • surveillance; and
  • lifestyle screening.

Staff are encouraged to self-refer to the department about any health issues they wish to discuss, whether related to work or not. Managers or our Human Resources Department can also refer staff for advice on attendance at work, rehabilitation when a member of staff has been off sick or injured, or for any matter that may affect their ability to work to their full potential.

Occupational Health and Safety can be contacted directly and in confidence on 0141 951 5436/5437 (extensions 5436/543).
