Health and Wellbeing Hub

You look after us, so we’ll look after you!

NHS Golden Jubilee’s staff and volunteers are the most valuable asset we have and are the key to delivering high quality care and services.

The mental health and wellbeing of our staff is of vital importance to us, especially now during this unprecedented pandemic and looking after our staff is as important to us as taking care of our patients.

Growing research demonstrates the importance of mental health and wellbeing in relation to satisfaction and effectiveness at work.

Our Health and Wellbeing strategy sets out our ambition for NHS Golden Jubilee to be a leader in promoting and maintaining a healthy workplace and provide support for our people which maximises their health and wellbeing.

Our strategy is based on a holistic health and wellbeing approach that supports staff to achieve and maintain good physical and mental health.

Supporting staff with managing social and financial aspects of their lives which can impact on physical and mental health is another key element.

Our approach is underpinned by a continued focus on creating the right conditions for good health and wellbeing that result in a healthy and effective workplace.

Stress, depression and anxiety are reported as the most common reasons for staff absence. Poor mental health is associated with an increased risk of diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes, while good mental health is a known protective factor.

Poor physical health also increases the risk of people developing mental health problems so we have in place a range of support for staff and managers to help prevent and assist with mental health issues in the workplace.

We hope you find everything you need in this Hub to help keep your physical and mental wellbeing in good condition.

happy staff
