Confident in our Values culture



It may only be the second month of the year, but already the Golden Jubilee Foundation has reason to celebrate a number of achievements.


In last month’s blog, I talked about receiving the Schools Employability award from West Dunbartonshire Council.


Since then, we have also been announced as one of the top 100 employers in the UK for supporting Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) members of staff in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index (WEI). This is the fourth year in a row that we have been featured on the list and the Golden Jubilee also continues to be the only Scottish NHS Board in the top 100.


Proving yet again our commitment to be an inclusive employer, the Golden Jubilee has also just been announced as a level three Disability Confident Leader – the highest accolade you can receive.


We are delighted that we have received Disability Confident Leader accreditation just one year after achieving level two Disability Confident status.


Replacing the ‘Double Tick’ scheme, Disability Confident was launched in 2013 with the aim of improving work opportunities for disabled people. The scheme helps employers draw from the widest possible pool of talent and demonstrates our commitment to treating all employees fairly.


The Golden Jubilee is very proud of our inclusive attitude and behaviours, and in line with our vision to lead quality, research and innovation, we want to be an employer that goes above and beyond in changing attitudes for the better. 


This is especially important as our expansion plans move forward, where we want to recruit, not only highly skilled staff, but staff who have the same values system an culture as we do. 


We are firmly committed to providing the highest possible standard of care and service for every patient, visitor, delegate and guest who comes here. This can only happen because we are dedicated to creating an inclusive work environment that not only welcomes individuals of all backgrounds, but actively highlights and celebrates our unique mix of people.


All of our achievements do not happen by accident and everything we do is made possible by the contributions of every one of our staff. Supporting our most valuable asset – our staff – to be the best they can be, has a direct benefit to the people who use our services. 


Nothing could be truer for the Golden Jubilee than the well used phrase ‘happy staff, happy customers’.
