Healthcare Award Success for Golden Jubilee
The Golden Jubilee National Hospital's Catering Team have been named the winner of the Healthcare Award at the 2016 Cost Sector Catering Awards.
After being shortlisted against organisations from across the UK, the Catering Team received the prestigious award on their first attempt.
The awards ceremony, held at the Hilton Metropole in London, brought together some of the top names in the catering world to recognise and celebrate the hard work and effort of the past year. With over 800 people in attendance, the glamorous event showcased the industry's finest talent, including a fine-dining experience served entirely gluten-free courtesy of Unilever Food Solutions, followed by a presentation of awards.
Pamela Mailler, Catering Operations Manager at the Golden Jubilee, commented: "We are delighted to be recognised as the Winner of the Healthcare Award. This is the first time that the Golden Jubilee has entered, and to win one of the coveted awards is an honour. Being recognised for the service we provide to patients is so important to us and this will only encourage the team to strive to achieve the best results we can in every aspect of what we do."
The Catering Department at the Golden Jubilee works in conjunction with the hospital's Clinical Nutritionists to ensure they meet the required food, fluid and nutrition standards seven days of the week. Preparing and cooking food freshly ensures a sustainable service that provides an enhanced dining experience for patients, visitors and staff.
The Healthcare Award acknowledges the continuous high quality service provided by the Catering team and this can now be recognised alongside an array of achievements the hospital has received. The Golden Jubilee holds the Healthy Living Award as well as being Highly Commended in the Catering Service of the Year Award at last year's Hospital Caterers Association Awards.
June Rogers, Director of Operations at the Golden Jubilee, commented: "Our Catering team maintain an exemplary service which meets the nutritional needs of our patients and staff. The team should be extremely proud of themselves – as we are proud of them. Here at the Golden Jubilee, we aspire to consistently provide person centred care and this incredible achievement captures this."
