Leaders in equality
The Golden Jubilee Foundation has been recognised for their ongoing dedication to equality in the workplace, being given the Sector Champion Award at the Stonewall Scotland Awards 2016 last night (Thursday 25 February).
The awards recognise Scottish employers for their contributions to supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) members of staff.
The Golden Jubilee received the award following their highest ranking to date in the prestigious Stonewall Workplace Equality Index (WEI), ranking 29th overall and being named the Top Health and Social Care Provider in the UK.
Head of Strategy and Performance for the Golden Jubilee Foundation and one of our Equality Leads, Carole Anderson, commented: “Over the past few years, we have worked continuously to improve our standing in the WEI, with the aiming of being a beacon of LGBT good practice for the NHS and the wider public sector in Scotland.
“Since entering the top 100 employers in the UK in 2015, we have climbed a further 41 places in the last 12 months. As a values-based Organisation, which invests in its -workforce, wecan only accomplish the things we do on a day-to-day basis by creating an inclusive work environment welcoming and celebrating the unique mix of individuals in our teams.
“To be recognised as the Sector Champion by Stonewall Scotland is an incredible accomplishment and is extremely rewarding for all of our team who work tirelessly on a daily basis to provide the highest possible standard of care possible.”
