
Cardiac (Heart) Surgery
The Golden Jubilee National Hospital’s cardiac (heart) surgery department undertakes approximately 1,400 major heart operations every year.

The cardiac surgery department carries out the following procedures:
- Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG)
- Valve Surgery – repair or replacement of heart valves.
- Other open heart surgical procedures
In addition as part of the Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac (SACCs) service the department undertakes adult congenital cardiac surgery procedures.
An expert team of specialists look after our cardiac patients during their hospital stay. The team includes, cardiac surgeons, anaesthetists, intensivists, Nurse Practitioners and a range of other professionals including perfusionists, physiotherapist and pharmacists.
