This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic experienced Registered Nurse. By 2021 the Golden Jubilee Foundation will complete investment in new elective treatment capacity to ensure there is high quality and adequate provision of elective services to meet the needs of an ageing population.

The first stage of this expansion is the opening of the new Integrated Ophthalmology Unit in 2020; patients will attend the unit for assessment and treatment for cataract surgery. The post holder will be appointed ahead of opening, in April 2019, to lead on the planning and delivery of the Ophthalmology Nurse Development Programme. The post holder will have responsibility to support both new and existing registered and unregistered nursing staff in preparation of the opening of the new facility; there will also be a requirement for the post holder to support the wider clinical education team in line with the Nursing Strategy.

We are looking for a Registered Adult Nurse with a First Level nursing degree (or equivalent) with extensive theatre and ophthalmology experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills are also required. Experience in the delivery of nurse education would be of benefit.
