The Golden Jubilee National Hospital is the home to the West of Scotland Regional Heart and Lung Centre and has an extended Orthopaedic Surgery programme. The Pharmacy Department has an excellent record in staff development, supporting training courses including Scottish Hospital Pharmacist Stage 2, MSc in Clinical Pharmacy, Non-Medical Prescribing courses and Dispensary Checking Technician Certificates as well as SVQ’s in management.
This post will be a key role within the pharmacy team at the GJNH. You will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical care directly to cardiac and orthopaedic surgery patients. You will also provide prescribing support to clinical staff to ensure the safe, effective and economical use of medicines. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with policies on medicines management and medicines legislation. This role may be suitable for a newly qualified pharmacist or a pharmacist working within the community sector, looking to gain hospital experience.
