Voluntary work

Our volunteers play a vital role in making the hospital experience better for every patient that walks through our doors, and in shaping our services for the future.

The Golden Jubilee has been leading the way in volunteering for 13 years, becoming one of the first organisations to be achieve the Investors in Volunteers (IiV) accreditation in 2009. In 2017, we were delighted to once again be recognised for our commitment to embedding volunteering in our culture, receiving the accreditation for the third time, one of the few organisations in the UK to do so.

We offer a variety of different roles for our volunteers, each helping support our patients in a variety of ways, from Pastoral Care, Sensory Service, Meet and Greet, Patient Peer Support, Quality Walk Rounds, Outpatient Escorts and Housekeeping Audits.

We are committed to recruiting volunteers from across the community. We will match individual skills/experience to appropriate placements, and will provide training and support to help you develop your skills.

Anyone interested in volunteering must complete an application form, Disclosure Scotland Declaration and supply two Referees.   All enquirers are asked to attend one of our Volunteer Information Sessions, which are held on the third Wednesday of each month.
