The board’s Diversity and Inclusion strategy 2021 - 2025 outlines our vision for creating a more inclusive hospital culture through a series of aims and outcomes.

We have taken an intersectional approach to ensure that everyone regardless of personal characteristic is treated with fairness, dignity and respect.

The strategy, which is underpinned by the Equality Act 2010 and the associated Public Sector Equality Duties, incorporates the board’s legal responsibilities to:

• Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and other conduct prohibited by the Act
• Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not
• Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.

Sandyford Gender Identity Services

Sandyford offers a comprehensive gender identity service available to anyone who is uncomfortable or uncertain about their gender identity or expression of their gender.

The service primarily assists people who are transgender to facilitate medical and surgical treatments, enabling greater comfort in the face of gender non-conformity. However, the service is also available to any person who feels uncomfortable or uncertain about their gender identity whether they wish to change their gender or not.

MSM Health Clinic:  Steve Retson Project

The Steve Retson Project is a specialist sexual health service for gay and bisexual men.

They provide sexual and emotional health services that are supportive, non-judgmental and sensitive to your needs. All services are free of charge and confidential. You can make an appointment for any SRP clinic without having to see your GP first.
