NHS Golden Jubilee Anti-Racism Action Plan 2025 - 2029
We are proud to launch our Anti-Racism Action Plan 2025–2029, which sets out our commitment to tackling racism and promoting race equality across NHS Golden Jubilee.
This plan has been developed in partnership with our staff, volunteers, service users and key stakeholder groups, including our Ethnic Minority Network and Ethnic Minority Advisory Group. It builds on our existing work to create a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for everyone who works with us or uses our services.
The Anti-Racism Action Plan is a key part of our wider equality and inclusion work. It supports our goals around staff wellbeing, retention, and service reform, and helps us meet our Public Sector Equality Duty.
The plan is built around 5 key themes:
-
Leadership and accountability
We are embedding anti-racism objectives into leadership roles, strengthening governance, and ensuring visible commitment across all levels of our organisation.
-
Organisational culture
Through our Kindness Matters programme, we are promoting inclusive behaviours, expanding allyship initiatives, and creating safe spaces for open and honest conversations.
-
Equity of opportunity
We are improving recruitment and career progression through inclusive practices and targeted development programmes, with a focus on supporting ethnic minority staff.
-
Using data to inform action
We will use workforce data, including ethnicity pay gap reporting and staff feedback, to identify inequalities and drive evidence-based change.
-
Addressing concerns
We are improving reporting channels and support systems to ensure staff and patients feel safe and confident to speak up about racism and discrimination.
This plan is about taking real, measurable action to build a fairer, safer and more inclusive NHS Golden Jubilee for everyone.
