NHS Golden Jubilee appoints new Deputy Chief Executive

We are pleased to announce an important development within our leadership team at NHS Golden Jubilee.
After a recent appointment process, Laura Smith, our Executive Director of People and Culture, has now been appointed as Deputy Chief Executive.
This follows our own Carolynne O’Connor stepping into the role of Chief Executive earlier this month, and together they’ll be leading us into an exciting new chapter.
Commenting on the appointment. Chief Executive of NHS Golden Jubilee, Carolynne O'Connor, said: "I am so pleased to announce that Laura is taking on this role. Since joining us, she’s brought so much energy, experience and passion for supporting people to thrive.
“As we look ahead, it’s vital that we have the right leadership in place to deliver on the strategic objectives set out by our Board. Laura’s skills and commitment will be central to helping us achieve these ambitions - for our patients, our people and the future of our organisation."
Laura joined NHS Golden Jubilee in January 2024, following 28 years in the private telecommunications sector with BT and EE, and she’s already made a real impact.
Laura said: “I’m delighted to be appointed as Deputy Chief Executive at such an important time for NHS Golden Jubilee. Over the past few months I’ve seen first-hand the talent, dedication and compassion that runs through this organisation.
“As we look to the future, I’m excited to play my part in delivering the Board’s strategic objectives - from strengthening the services we provide for patients, to supporting innovation, and ensuring our people have the best possible environment to do their jobs.
“Together with colleagues across the organisation, I’m looking forward to helping achieve our ambitions and continuing to build a workplace and a service we can all be proud of."
