NHS Golden Jubilee backs colleague's Olympic dream
NHS Golden Jubilee is celebrating the achievements of Senior Physiotherapist, Madeliene (Maddy) Silcock as she embarks on an exciting new chapter with the Great Britain Cycling Team, reflecting the organisation's commitment to supporting colleagues not only in their careers, but in achieving their wider personal ambitions and goals.
Maddy, who recently won a bronze medal for Team Scotland at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, has accepted a full-time place on the national cycling programme as she pursues her dream of representing Team GB at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Her success highlights NHS Golden Jubilee's belief that supporting staff wellbeing means recognising and encouraging the passions, talents and aspirations that exist beyond the workplace.

Maddy said: “It has been an incredibly difficult decision because I've loved my time at NHS Golden Jubilee and working alongside such a fantastic team.
“But this is an opportunity I've dreamed of. To be selected for the Great Britain Cycling Team and have the chance to pursue Olympic qualification is something I couldn't pass up.
“Taking up cycling just a few years ago, I could never have imagined that I'd be in this position. I'm incredibly grateful for all the support I've received from colleagues at NHS Golden Jubilee throughout my journey and I'm excited to see where this next chapter takes me.”
Maddy's sporting rise has been remarkable. After a successful athletics career, she transitioned to track cycling and quickly established herself as one of Scotland's most promising sprint cyclists. The Glasgow Commonwealth Games were her first major international competition and saw her compete in front of a home crowd.
She added: “Competing in Glasgow was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was incredible and standing on the podium for Scotland was something I'll never forget. It felt special to do that in front of a home crowd.
“Now my focus turns to what's next and giving everything I can to achieve my goal of competing at the Los Angeles Olympics.”
