Susan Douglas Scott’s Term as Chair Extended to April 2027

We are delighted to announce that the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Care has confirmed an extension to Susan Douglas‑Scott CBE’s tenure as our Chair here at NHS Golden Jubilee.

Susan will continue in her role until 3 April 2027, providing valuable continuity and leadership for our organisation.

Susan has led our Board since 2018, and this extension adds a further 3 months to her term, commencing on 1 January 2027.

Throughout her career, she has brought exceptional experience from across the disability, health, public and third sectors, including senior leadership roles and extensive board service.

Her national profile continues to grow. In 2025, she was appointed Chair of the interim National Care Service Advisory Board, reflecting her long‑standing commitment to equality, inclusion and delivering meaningful change.

As a disabled woman and member of Scotland’s LGBTQI community, Susan is widely recognised as a passionate advocate for fairness and authentic inclusion across health and social care.

Commenting on the extension of her role, Susan Douglas-Scott said: "I am thrilled to continue in my role as Chair of NHS Golden Jubilee. It has been a privilege to work alongside such dedicated colleagues over the past eight years, and I look forward to supporting the organisation as it continues to deliver high‑quality, compassionate and innovative care."
