Ali's Army are on their way!
Colleagues in our Radiology department are coming together to take part in Race for Life following a cancer diagnosis for one of the team.
Close colleague and friend Ali Mitchell, who is a Radiographer, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and the team want to show her they are behind her every step of the way as she begins her battle against the disease.
The team want to raise vital funds to save lives by doing the Cancer Research UK 5km Pretty Muddy event in Glasgow on Saturday 13 June 2026.
“For us, this is deeply personal. Hearing news like this about someone you see every day, laugh with and care about is incredibly tough. Sadly, she is not the first within our team to face this journey.
“But through it all, one thing has truly stood out – the strength, kindness and support within our team. We are more than colleagues, we are friends who look out for one another when it matters most.
“As Ali begins her fight, we’re raising funds in support of her, others affected by cancer, and the research that makes a difference every day, so any support, big or small, would mean the world to us.”
One in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every pound donated helps support groundbreaking research and brings hope to so many.
