NHS Golden Jubilee has welcomed the reappointment of 3 members of their Board.

Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Humza Yousaf MSP, has today announced that Linda Semple, Stephen McAllister and Callum Blackburn have been reappointed as members of the Board for NHS Golden Jubilee.

The reappointments will be for a period of 4 years, with Linda Semple and Stephen McAllister running from 1 October 2022 to 30 September 2026, and Callum Blackburn running from 1 November 2022 to 31 October 2026.

Linda retired from over 20 years working in NHS Scotland, starting as a committee clerk then training in public health, health intelligence and health economics. Her last role was being seconded to the Scottish Government where she was Head of Sustainability & Efficiency for the NHS. 

Previously, she has a long career in publishing, journalism, and the book trade, along with extensive voluntary experience in LGBT+ organisations. Linda studied Classics at the University of London and has a MBA, a MA in Literature and a Postgraduate qualification in Health Economics.

Stephen McAllister was previously a senior police officer. In addition to 3 years’ experience as a Board member with NHS Golden Jubilee, NHS Forth Valley and the Risk Management Authority, he brings a wealth of experience in leadership, crisis management and corporate governance. He puts this experience to good use in ensuring that the Scottish public sector provide outstanding service in an efficient manner within budget. 

Callum Blackburn is an independent consultant specialising in the circular economy, climate change and waste management. He has held many positions in public bodies over the last 20 years. Most recently from 2013 to 2020 he was Head of Policy, Research and Evaluation at Zero Waste Scotland, responsible for overseeing a diverse range of policy development and research work on behalf of the Scottish Government.

His previous roles also include managing the environmental health function at Falkirk Council and advisory work for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.  Callum was also an external adviser to Standard Life Investment’s Ethical Advisory Committee from 2008 to 2017, providing advice on their ethical investment policy. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management. Callum is the Board’s Whistleblowing Champion.

“Their experience will continue to be of significant benefit to patients from all across Scotland, and I look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.”
