Carolynne O'Connor
Chief Executive
Carolynne took up post at NHS Golden Jubilee on 7 October 2022, as Executive Director of Operations and Deputy Chief Executive. She became Chief Executive on 1 August 2025.
Carolynne commenced her NHS career as a Student Nurse in 1985 and became one of the youngest Senior Ward Managers in the UK at the age of 22. Following this, Carolynne moved into Operational Management and secured a range of senior management and Director level roles during the last 30 years. Her extensive experience has seen her lead services within complex multi -site hospitals, as well as a range of specialised services, across the UK including major teaching hospitals in Leeds, Birmingham, London and Glasgow. Carolynne brings a wealth of experience in managing planned care, unplanned care, specialist services, strategic transformation and partnership working.
Carolynne was Operational commissioning Lead for a COVID facility during the pandemic, where she was awarded recognition for her service and leadership by the Chief Executive of NHS England.
She is a keen advocate for inclusivity and investment in staff wellbeing. Carolynne is lead executive for the Women’s Network.
Before joining NHS Golden Jubilee, Carolynne was Director of Operations at Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Trust. This complex role gave her excellent experience leading Mental and Community Health services across a large geographical area, working with a range of Acute, Primary Care and Third Sector Organisations.
