Delivering care through collaboration

Golden Jubilee welcomes new Finance Director

NHS Golden Jubilee is set to welcome its new Director of Finance as the facility embarks on a very exciting era of expansion and development.

Colin Neil joins the national NHS Board from his former role as Assistant Director of Finance for Acute Services with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, just as the structural work for the Clydebank hospital’s phase one expansion gets off the ground.

NHS Golden Jubilee is also collaborating on the National Elective Centres Programme, sharing its innovative model of care with new centres across the country to help cut waiting times for in demand specialties such as cataracts and hip and knee replacements.

Colin, from Paisley, is aiming to use his extensive experience in the NHS to ensure the Golden Jubilee continues to meet its financial targets whilst being a centre of excellence for innovation and research and maintaining top quality person-centred care.

The 49 year-old started his career in Scotland’s NHS nearly 30 years ago when he joined the Finance department of the former Argyll & Clyde Health Board in a junior role.

He will now be responsible for an annual budget of £320 million, leading and helping to shape the Board’s strategic priorities.

Mr Neil said: “It’s a big job but I am really looking forward to getting started here at the Golden Jubilee. It’s a massive privilege to be part of such a dynamic and inspirational organisation, which has achieved outstanding success over the years.

“It is a very exciting time to get on board here with the new expansions for ophthalmology and orthopaedics, as well as the rollout of new elective services across Scotland, which the Golden Jubilee will play a major part in.

“I look forward to working with my new colleagues within the Board, as well as collaborating across NHSScotland to help improve the health of the Scottish population.”

NHS Golden Jubilee Chief Executive Jann Gardner said: “I am delighted to welcome Colin Neil as our new Director of Finance at an extremely significant time for the Golden Jubilee.

“Colin’s impressive track record, substantial experience in both finance and the NHS in Scotland and outstanding leadership qualities make him the ideal choice to help us take the Golden Jubilee forward in this critical part of our evolution.”
